Computer

SQLape tools are designed to run with Windows 7 or 8 and Microsoft Office software package (2010 or 2013 versions of Access and Excel). Dates must be
configured (Windows) in DD.MM.YYYY format (example: 30.07.2013).

In Switzerland, the readmissions and reoperations indicators are provided in collaboration with the Swiss association for quality in hospitals and clinics (ANQ). ANQs users can also use other configurations: 4 ANQ

Data

To use SQLape tools, you have to prepare the SQLape_input.txt file. All required data are available in usual computerized hospital medical records.4 DATA

Implementation

1. Installation of SQLape-2015 application

Copy the SQLape-2015.accde application in the subdirectory you want to use to run SQLape tool (for instance: D:\SQLape-2015). You have to choose the 32 bits Microsoft version (2010 or 2013) or the 64 bits Microsoft version (2013).

2. Running calculation

Set the dongle (grey colored) delivered by SQLape s..r.l. in a USB port of your computer, it will install automatically.

Open the subdirectory where you have placed the SQLape_input.txt file, for instance: D:\SQLape-2015.

Double-click on SQLape-2015.accde application and wait for results.

3. Review process (optional, after step 2)

If you are interested to review detailed cases, you can use the
SQLape-2015-Review.accde application in the same subdirectory as above.

Double-click on this application and select your cases:
- by hospital, site and department
- by indicator (readmission, reoperation, deaths, complications, day surgery,
unjustified stays)
- with the proper random sample (from 10 to 100%).

Right-click to print. Click on Exit when you have finished.
